Dementia doesn't appear overnight. In most cases, it begins slowly with symptoms that many people mistake for stress, fatigue, or normal aging. However, recognizing these signs early can make a big difference, as an early diagnosis allows for treatment to begin, some symptoms to be managed, and the quality of life to be improved for both the patient and their family.
It's important to remember that experiencing one or two of these signs doesn't necessarily mean a person has dementia. Many other illnesses, sleep problems, nutritional deficiencies, anxiety disorders, or depression can also cause similar symptoms. Therefore, it's always advisable to consult a healthcare professional if the changes are persistent or worsen over time.
